It is not illegal." Manafort's company, DMP International, worked with the Podesta Group, an opposition research firm founded by Tony Podesta, a lobbyist for the Clinton campaign. Manafort did not register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, an anti-lobbying law passed in 1938.
